Day 2 Hatteras Pictures.  Apparently there wasn't much we did...

Up at 7am we headed directly for the ocean. We took a long stroll along the beach. The waves were awesome. We then had to get to work. At 9am we had a date with Dale the local mechanic to look at Big Red. Dale had been recommended by the friendly people at Camp Hatteras. We headed over to the auto shop/garage a little after 9am and Dale was waiting for us. We introduced ourselves and did the obligatory small talk and then Bill took him for a short drive to show him the issue. Dale said that he could try and fix it if we bought it back the next day at 9am. Dale's son, Eric owned a car rental place, Land Cruisers, so we set up to get a car while Big Red was in the shop. We returned to the Bungalow and continued to work. The rest of the day was low key...work, work, work. At 5pm we once again went out to watch the lovely sunset. Bill built a fire and we cooked dinner. S'mores topped off the night.

See... no mention of dinner.  I know that hand crafting a pasta dish and frying up Crabcakes is no big... but it was a really tasty meal and continued our trend of finding simple tasty dishes to make.  We also had a fire and it was nice enough to sit outside and have a fire while cooking.  Have to say that the outside kitchen is really great.  Beyond keeping the smell and mess out of the RV, it's awesome to have a drink while cooking and watching the sun set over the Sound.  Add a fire and you have a little slice of heaven.

That is what I wanted when we said we were going to go away for two weeks.  Yeah, we have to work and put in eight hours, but when we're done, step outside and you are basically in a park.  Pretty nice.
